Point of View

Point of view (POV) is, in my opinion, one of the most important aspects of a photograph. Technically, POV is the angle or perspective from which the photograph is made–where the camera is positioned. Effective use of POV may create drama, highlight content, and tell a story. Generally, POV is not noticed by the viewer when the shot is composed at eye level unless an unusual element is included in the view.

View of Monument Valley from horseback. My horse was reluctant to follow the others but that allowed me to capture this shot of our Navajo guide and my grandson.
